Education & activities

Α) The Museum of Medicine of the University of Crete offers a series of Educational Activities for Primary School Students, with a duration of 75 minutes, which are the following:

  1. "From the garden of herbs to the workshop of remedies. Workshop of experiential creation"
  2. "Experiential artistic workshop about the medicinal aromatic plants of Crete"
  3. "Getting to know medicinal plants: Creative educational games"
  4. "A journey into the past: a game about medicinal plants - traditional medicine to medical science"
  5. "Workshop of young doctors: Medical Objects and their stories"
  6. "Workshop of Hygiene and Protection"
  7. "Little Researcher's Workshop - Getting to know your body: Game of Anatomy"
  8. "Host on defense: A simulation game about biological functions"
  9. "Quiz: Biognosis"

Β) The Museum of Medicine of the University of Crete offers a series of Educational Activities for Secondary School Students, with a duration of 90 minutes, which are the following:

  • "From the garden of herbs to the workshop of remedies. Workshop of experiential creation"
  • "Host on defense: A simulation game about biological functions"
  • "Physicians and Patients: Medical Objects and their Stories"

C) Educational activities elementary school students

The educational visit includes a guided tour of the Museum of Medicine with a short presentation and, also, educational activities in English. (duration of total visit for a) elementary school students: 75 minutes b) secondary school students: 90 minutes)

Detailed information are given upon request.
Visit & accessibility policy: The Museum's premises are open to the public on working days 10am-2pm and during events. Entrance is free of charge. The Museum is housed in the Medical School of the University of Crete at the Vouton Campus. Visits by schools or organised groups of excursionists must be booked in advance. The Museum has a 30-seat lecture hall which can be used for events related to the subject of the Museum.
