Exhibits / Instruments

The examination of visual perimetry is the most widespread method of assessing the functional integrity of the optic nerve. It is used to diagnose and monitor glaucoma, but also to investigate neurological conditions. This kinetic optical perimeter is one of the first to be introduced into clinical practice between 1880 and 1910. It was used to measure the patient's visual field. This instrument was replaced by sophisticated large optical perimeters.
